After all this blog is called Primpin & Paleo! And no I didn’t eat breakfast with a face mask on; face mask came after breakfast. This combo along with some yoga was a great way to start my day.
Breakfast was my usual 2x2 - 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon with my Energizing Tropical Green Tea Smoothie.
Energizing Tropical Green Tea Smoothie
- 1 cup flavored green tea like Lipton Peach Passion Green Tea.
- 3 strawberries
- 1/4 cup frozen pineapple
- 1/4 cup frozen peaches
- 1/4 cup frozen mango
- 1 handful baby spinach
1. Allow 1 teabag to seep in 1 cup water for about 5 min
2. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Avocado & Egg White Face Mask
- 1/2 ripe avocado, mashed
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
1. Mash the avocado to make smooth paste.
2. Now mix egg white to the paste and then add lemon juice and mix until smooth.
3. Spread this mixture on the neck and face evenly and massage it well into the skin.
4. Allow it to sit on the skin for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water, pat dry.
You skin now becomes oil free. Egg whites usually clear the oil and grime that get accumulated in the skin pores. It also reduces oil production. Lemon juice will exfoliate and the avocado will leave your skin soft and brightened.

Primp Baby Primp
Did I mention I love Vegas?! My husband and I had a wonderful time. No agenda, no kids, and finally some time to talk about things other than who’s picking up the girls from daycare. After an amazing breakfast poolside at the Terrace Cafe, I indulged in a spa retreat.
The Wynn Spa is FABULOUS!! Jacuzzi, hot sauna, steam room, cold cucumbers for the eyes, dried fruit and nuts, hot tea, lemon water, private showers. I could have stayed there all day!
Only two more days of school! It’s not even officially my summer and I’m feelin refreshed. Maybe it’s this new journey; fingers crossed.
Primp: cute yellow sun dress with a jean jacket and a high bun. Light AM yoga but then baby woke up. Might finish tonight.

I did once again have a few SMALL licks of my husbands jamoca almond fudge ice cream. But honestly the fact that i havent completely caved and ordered my own scoop is a big step for me.
I’ve had this weird pain in my lower back that wraps around (kidney area and front pelvis) . Not sure if that’s diet related…
What in the Vega?!
I follow this insane bodybuilder Rob Riches for inspiration and healthy eating tips. He has been posting alot of great recipes using Plant Based Vega supplements. I saw this product on sale at my local Sprouts and decided to give it a try. There were about 6 flavors to choose from, but I played it safe with Vanilla Almondilla. SO DELICIOUS! I did a scoopful mixed with cold water for my am snack.
Nutrition facts:

OMVega I will be drinking you again!
What a day! I didn’t primp much; lazy sunday in yoga pants and a bun. Did light yoga But my Paleo eating was great!!! I felt in control and didn’t need to turn to relentless snacking of crackers and chex mix.
Btw how fantastic is original Chex Mix?! It’s a comfort food of mine and always brings me back to making with my mom as a little girl. Oh well, guess i won’t be eating that anymore.
Anyway here is a recap of my day:
Breakfast:
1 eggs + 2 egg whites
Iced green tea
Snack:
1 egg + 1 slice bacon
Almond milk
Lunch:
Salad Trio from Corner Bakery
DC Chicken, Asian Edemame, Avocado Wedge (no tortilla chips)

Dinner: Breakfast for dinner!!!! A family fav. Pic above:
2 Eggs
2 slices Sugar Free, Nitrate Free bacon
Sautéed spinach
Sweet potato hash
Cantaloupe

I was getting mild headache throughout the day but I’m not sure if thats wheat withdrawal or coincidence.
I only have more days of work (teacher). It will be great to be at home and have time to cook.
I woke up with a new outlook and excited to make some changes. I primped, I paleod (not a word, i know), and a struggled at the end. A recap of my day:
Primp: 8:30 hair appointment at my favorite Aveda salon. I adore all things Aveda, but my husband complains about the cost, so I only get my hair done about 3 times a year. Today was highlights and a cut. PM Hatha Yoga to end it all. Pure Bliss.
Paleo: I did pretty well considering I haven’t gone grocery shopping yet.
Breakfast:
egg + 2 egg whites
Iced green tea
Snack: Summer Fruit Cup from Panera
Lunch:
Turkey avocado & bacon on mixed greens. EVOO and vinegar drizzle. Amazing!
Snack: 10 Pistachios + raspberries
Dinner:
chicken breast with romaine, baby carrots, garlic, and EVOO drizzle
Snack: Watermelon
And now the downfall…a few licks of my husbands ice cream. But on the plus side the guilt i felt made me believe the ice cream wasn’t all that good. Lesson learned: guilt = minimized cheating.
All I can do is try to improve and build on each day.
So the Big 30 was on Monday and I can’t say i feel any older. I am starting this blog to document my journey to Primpin and Paleo. Let me explain…
There was once this girl name Nicole who actually looked cute on most occasions. Hair fixed, makeup done, cute outfit. Now I was never a fashionist; matching navy, white, and gray is why I still shop at Abercrombie. BUT I did look cute. Somewhere along the way i lost that part of me. That’s right, I lost the Primp.
There is now this girl Nicole who I know, but I don’t really like her very much. She’s tired all the time, grumpy and irritable (especially to her loving husband), is up to 130 lbs, and finds little joy in the things she once loved. My kids and husband never know my mood and probably walk on egg shells around me.
I am convinced I suffer from Adrenal Fatigue. I was once diagnosed with it a few years back and all the signs and symptoms have returned. This is where the Paleo comes in.
Everything I read revolves around this way of eating. To feel better and look better I know i must give it a try. So here is my leap into Primpin and Paleo. Follow my journey, comment, and inspire me if you’d like.
